Short bio
I hold a PhD in Animal Biology and I currently work at CNR, Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies. During my PhD I was a visiting student at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany. I was then a post-doctoral research fellow at CNR, Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies, Rome; Pennsylvania State University, USA; University of Zurich, Switzerland. I have also been a visiting scientist at the field station of the project EthoCebus and at the University of Georgia and at the Appalachian State University, USA. During my career, I won numerous scholarships, such as the NATO-CNR Advanced and the l'Orèal-UNESCO For women in science.
Research interests
I am interested in comparative primate cognition. In particular, my work focuses mainly on decision making, symbolic reasoning, social and individual learning and feeding behavior, in both primates and pre-school children. Recently, I got interested in the relationship between weaning style and cognitive development in infants and toddlers
